“Finding your swimsuit is ready for primetime” kudos to sotyktu for featuring this hottie in a speedo in their commercial. The drug is used to treat plaque psoriasis, and the campaign is focused on body positivity and being confident in your own skin.

˝We need more of these messages with dad bods and bear bods. Normalize speedos for all˝
The creators of the spot stated that while there is humor in the family dynamic of the ad, the dad, his body, and his choice of swimwear are celebrated not ridiculed or mocked.

The dad appears confident during the 60-second advertisement even though he has psoriasis, a skin disease, and is wearing an outfit that embarrasses his daughter. But that doesn’t stop the whole family from enjoying themselves by a pool later in the spot.
The team behind the campaign learned from psoriasis patients that they are often self-conscious about their skin, said Michael Braun, SVP of immunology and fibrosis at Bristol Myers Squibb, which received Food and Drug Administration approval for the drug in September.

For the advertisement, the idea was to show a “celebration of having success with being confident in your own skin,” said Braun. “It tells a real story that will connect with our audience, which is the patients who are suffering from psoriasis.”

The pharmaceutical company collaborated on the campaign with Humancare, a healthcare communications agency launched by Interpublic Group last year. Real Chemistry worked on media relations for the campaign.
The spot also shows a woman happy with her clear skin, and she picks out a sleeveless shirt before taking the stage. Similarly, the Grammys are also an event where attendees show their skin.
“It ties very nicely with this idea of promoting body positivity,” Braun said. “We believe that this is a great place for us to reach our audience.”

The goal is to reach a wide and varied audience as psoriasis affects around 7.5 million people nationally and 90% of them have plaque psoriasis. This spot is just the start to what Braun calls a very robust campaign to ensure it reaches its target. There will be TV, connected TV, online videos, social channels and of course direct point of care in doctors’ offices.

Re: Swim Brief Dad commercial – This “dad” is so inappropriate in front of his young teen daughter and what is wrong with the “mother” allowing this to happen. As a mother I would not condone this in any way. But, since I understand this to be a commercial with actors I have to ask, why would the parents be okay with their daughter participating in this perverted commercial. Looking at that display of “man parts” leads me to believe the young teen daughter could be traumatized after seeing that. I know I would have been at that age. And what about if the daughter wants to take a friend with her and her family to a beach. So wrong on so many levels. This commercial falls under indecency in front of a minor and would lead to sexualizing children.

Your response is totally irrational. He is doing nothing lewd or vulgar. The daughter is not being victimized, nor “sexualized”. It is a wholesome family going on vacation and having fun. It is this attitude that makes men and boys ashamed of their bodies while women and girls show almost everything in public with no criticism. That body shaming of boys is the traumatizing going on in the US today and for the last generation.

I disagree with Ms. Russell. Europeans are much less uptight and puritanical about such things and have a much healthier attitude toward the human figure. As far as seeing his “man parts” does Ms. Russell have x-ray vision. Using the word “perverted” is extreme. The theme is much more that adolescents are often embarrassed by their parents for many reasons; a typical stage of development. I guess that Ms. Russell has never been to a beach or has cable television. Perhaps Ms. Russell is projecting her personal issues and could benefit from a good therapist. I hope she hasn’t transmitted this rigid uptight nature to her daughter. God forbid she stumbles on the ubiquitous pornography found on the internet. Now that would be more in line with indecency.

Do some research. Speedos aren’t loose unless they are trunks, of which i wear both, I wear the trunks over my speedo bikini on my way to and from the pool, and when I get there, the trunks come off and I’m still wearing proper swim attire, so sorry they discontinued your swim attire in the 1930’s.

Lol. But a mom in a bikini in front of her son is just fine? Man parts. Hilarious.

Get a life you f***ing prude! It’s just a commercial about body positivity. How about little boys that have to see their severely obese mothers or sisters or aunts, stuffed into a bikini…and you want to blast a family fun commercial. Or, are you jealous, because he looks better in his swim attire than you do in yours?

What is wrong with the mother letting her pre.teen daughter run around in a tiny bikini like a little slut? What kind of message is that sending to pervs like you that have their minds in the gutter and get their jollies looking at kids in bikinis? And, have you never seen the Olympics where all the men wore speedos? Like others have stated, You need serious therapy for your depraved thinking!

Perhaps people like youshouldn’t watch television at all. I would rather see a family having a fun vacation than having feminine hygiene products sho ed in my face every 15 minutes.

As a Firefighter and School Bus Driver I received training on what to look out for and this falls under something I would be required to report. Obviously the daughter is uncomfortable around this and is appearing to be “Groomed” to accept this situation with treats. See Something Say Something

“Groomed” by her father? because his swimsuit doesn’t go down past his knees? and because the family is having fun by the pool? I have taught school for 30 years and I never received such biased “training.” In your world, any normal father could be arrested for some perceived perversion because the beholder has unrealistic beliefs shaped by the body shaming of men and boys. Yes, there are bad people out there, and we are trained to look out for abuse, but this scenario is not one of them!

Report to who? And what would the report be? Teen in hallway looks through door and sees dad in swimsuit. Dad in swimsuit accompanies mom and teen to public pool. You’re being ridiculous.

Oh look! Another “holier than thou” that has never seen the olympics where men are wearing speedos. And report what to whom? And who is being “groomed”, and for what? Life lessons about embarrassment? That is what he was doing. You need serious deviant therapy if you think there is anything mote than a family having a fun family vacation. Jeezus, my dad used to live for moments when he couldn’t wait to embarrass his kids, even after we were grown and moved away from home, so, get over yourself and get some therapy!!!!
