My planner is one of those simple ring binder journals you can pick up from any stationery supplies store. White paper. No ruled lines to cage my venturesome handwriting and doodling. But does people still use daily planner in 2021?
I’m an obsessive note-taker and fill pages to the margins with to do lists, rough sketches, and ideas for blog posts. I usually go through one planner every month.
I started browsing shops and noticed not so long ago photos that people used to sell daily planners. Some say that it has really helped them with their schedule and that it dramatically changed their daily routine, but for those that’ve used planners in the past or are using them now, how does it help?
I use the Calendar in my iPhone. Not only does it keep my time organized but I can set reminders which is incredibly helpful.
Back to the topic: planners are also basically notepads, but unless you like the color designs and all of that, planners can be your thing. Maybe you like the design, etc. Ive used planners in the past, but if you aren’t knowing where you left your paper, or if you lose it, i would rather stick to notes on my phone but planners do add a nice vibe to your daily routine. That’s just my part.
I find the monthly and weekly calendars useful because it lets me know what I have going on at a glance. I’ve got a busy schedule with work, writing posts, social media content – as well as making time for my husband, family, and friends.
I’ve found it really useful for time-management, and in particular figuring out which blocks of time I have free to work on assignments etc.
However, I also have an extra blank notebook that I use to write to-do lists on, which I prefer over a daily diary because it’s unstructured. I find that I don’t always have enough things that I need to write down for every single day (e.g. if I’m at work for the whole day – there’s not much extra time to put other stuff in).
The main part that I’ve enjoyed is colour coding! I use six or so different colours to reflect different areas of my life such as work, running, and reading.
That is to say, having a daily planner really helps to make you a more organized, motivated, and productive person.
